A paraplanner is a person within the Financial Services industry that prepares Statement of Advice documents*, financial modelling and other financial planning documents.

To expand on this definition, paraplanners within Australia also complete the following tasks:

  • Insurance Research
  • Presentation and appointment preparation
  • Complete application forms

*Statement of Advice documents are issued to clients/customers when they receive financial advice of any kind. They outline the advice, reasonable basis for advice, products, costs, the client/customer’s current situation and, hopefully, how the client will be better off after implementing the recommended strategies.
